On the weekend of 20-21 July 2013 I'm offering a two day skills-
oriented experiential workshop "Foundations of facilitation" in
Brisbane.

If you have colleagues or clients whom you think it will benefit,
I'd be grateful if you'd bring it to their attention. It's priced
at $660 ($600 + GST) and for deserving cases we also offer a small
number of half price bursaries.

The content will be negotiated with participants. I'll be using
action research principles and processes to fine tune the workshop
as it progresses. If you know something of my style you can
probably guess that it will be experiential and participative,

We will explore the various ways Action Learning [AL] and Reflective Practice can assist with the development of new and innovative ways of operating, communicating and delivering services. Current government examples will be used to illustrate the use of AL in service development, and delivering change support processes, and Reflective Practice will be discussed in the context of staff support during volatile and uncertain times. Links between AL and Cynfin Leadership in Uncertainty will also be touched on.

Twice a year, ALARA sponsors an online action research course by email. The next course begins in mid July, with orientation material sent out in very early July.

While not a conference with an Action Learning / Action Research focus, the content of this event might be of interest to members who work with Indigenous Communities.

MEES Australia in cooperation with the Eduarda Foundation, Inc. launches the 2013 National Indigenous Health Conference to be held in Cairns on the 25th – 27th November, 2013. The overwhelming response of the Call for Papers clearly indicates the interests of organizations and individuals working in the field of Indigenous Health to improve the Indigenous people’s health throughout this nation.

Within ten weeks of first publishing the event, we've received dozens of papers from every states and territories and registration numbers are also filling fast; hence, we encourage anyone who wishes to attend the conference to register as soon as possible. More than 80 % of the submitted papers are from community based organizations, wishing to share successes in programs implemented within their communities.
