Presenter: Dr June Lennie, RMIT University

Evaluating complex communication for development (C4D) and social change initiatives is quite difficult compared with other development initiatives where it can be easier to track and isolate changes due to a particular program. C4D programs take a participatory approach but are often expected to use measurement-oriented evaluation approaches and tools that are often ineffective and inappropriate for evaluating C4D, and don't fit their values and their more complex and inclusive approaches to social and behaviour change.
