Invitation to the Eighth World Congress
September 6-9th 2010, Melbourne, Australia
Plus two pre-congress skill-sharing days (4th-5th)
ALARA in partnership with Borderlands Cooperative, oases Graduate School,
the Power and Participation Team, Institute of Development Studies, and Deakin University
Engage with like-minded (and other-minded) people in conversations about historical and current philosophies underpinning PAR / AR / AL, debate issues of power, deepen your understanding of methodologies and be inspired by accounts of contemporary practices/praxis.
Be stimulated by critical dialogues and reflections within the ‘applied' streams of: Social Ecology Community and International Development; Health and Wellbeing; Systems /Business / Organisational Development; Education and Learning; and Decolonising Practice, including cross-cultural learning with Indigenous and other Peoples and contexts.
Meet the people actively engaged in Action Research / Action Learning and its applied fields. Meet practitioners of the 'new' generation. Talk and listen to the ‘Elders' who have lived during and contributed to the early growth periods of PAR, AR & AL and who continue to be initiators and innovators.
Gather materials, shared-knowledge and contacts to take PAR / AR / AL with you into workplaces, associations, organisations and lives. Brush up on the basics of PAR / AR / AL and their current present-day practices, their
commonalities and diversity.
Become part of local, regional and global networks practicing PAR /AR / AL.
