Venue
The Congress will be held at the Bayview Eden, Queens Road 6, Melbourne from the 6th till the 9th of September 2010, with two pre-Congress skill-sharing days on the 4th and 5th of September in venues to be announced later.
The Major Themes which will guide the overall proceedings are as follows:
* Philosophical foundations of research and learning as participatory social change/praxis
* Power in the Action Learning and (Participatory)
* Action Research relationship and in social-change-at-large
* Action Research and Learning Methodology for transformation
* Innovations in practice and the contribution of systems approaches.
Evolving Streams of applied PAR, AR and AL include:
* An ‘ecology’ stream, with several evolving foci including wilderness, agriculture, socio-culture
* An ‘education’ stream with possible foci on tertiary, secondary, ‘early’ and alternative;
* Community Development / Personal Development /
PAR and International Development;
* ‘Welfare, Wellbeing and Health’ ;
* ‘Systems’, ‘Business’, Organisational Development and AL, AR and PAR;
*‘Indigenous Peoples and PAR’
*'Feminist PAR'
May 31st 2010: final date for abstract submission;
June 1st: end of early-bird registration, start of regular registration period;
July 1st 2010: end of reviewing process and participants notified re acceptance;
July 31st 2010: all accepted papers, workshop descriptions, catalyst papers and poster session abstracts submitted for inclusion in the CD;
4 - 5 September: Pre-Congress workshops
6—9 September: welcome to Melbourne and the Congress!
